Advisory Board Chairman
Emmanuel Katongole is a Ugandan Entrepreneur who has diligently served his country in the fight against HIV/AIDS and Malaria. He serves as the Executive Chairman of Cipla Quality Chemical Industries Ltd, a Pan-African company that manufactures Anti-retroviral and Anti-malaria medicines. He further serves as the Chairman of the National Oil Company of Uganda on top of other Board Memberships in both private and public organizations. In 2012, he was given the title of East African Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the year. In the same year, he also won the Africa Business Leadership Award hosted by the Africa Development Bank, and the Africa Entrepreneurship Award hosted by the Africa Leadership Network based in South Africa.
In 2013, he became a finalist in the Ernst & Young world Entrepreneur of the year awards held in Monaco. He recently emerged as the National and East Africa Regional winner in the Chemical, Pharmaceutical and Petrochemical sector of CEO Global’s Titans-Building Nations Awards. Emmanuel is also a member of the Initiative for Global Development (IGD) – Frontier 100. The group’s Governing Council is co-chaired by Madeleine K. Albright and General Colin L. Powell both Former Secretaries of State, U.S. Department of State. Emmanuel holds a Master of Arts Degree in Economic Policy and Planning (MA-EPP) and a Bachelor of Statistics degree (B.Stat. Hons) from Makerere University Kampala, Uganda.
