Afsane Jetha, COO
Afsane has nearly 10 years of experience in the private equity industry based in New York and London. Ms. Jetha joined TLG Capital in early 2011 as COO and oversees investments in the healthcare and consumer sectors, as well as is responsible for investor relations. During her time at TLG she has worked on the Fund’s later-stage investments in Sub-Saharan Africa’s (ex-South Africa) first WHO pre-approved pharmaceutical plant, QCIL, in Uganda, as well as on structuring and diligencing various healthcare transactions across West Africa.
Prior to joining TLG, she spent more than two years at GI partners, a US private equity firm with over US$4bn under management, where she completed several deals in the healthcare and real estate verticals, oversaw all in-house M&A and was a board member of the Cambian Group, one of UK's leading healthcare companies and GI's largest healthcare investment. Earlier in her career, Afsane was part of the Consumer team at Permira, a global private equity firm, where she worked primarily on consumer transactions across Africa.
Ms. Jetha has also spent four years with Wasserstein & Company in their private equity group and with Merrill Lynch in the investment banking team. Ms. Jetha is a 4th generation Tanzanian and has strong professional ties to East Africa. Afsane has an MBA from the Harvard Business School and a BSc in Economics, cum laude, from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
